First off, I think I'll start by giving you my definition of Spyware. Spyware is any kind of program or software that is surreptitiously installed on a users computer with the intent of intercepting personal information from the user(s) of the computer. Spyware can be installed either by the user unknowingly (spyware is often times packaged with other software that a user actually intended to install), by another malware program or virus on the computer, or by another person who intends to monitor the infected computer's use.

Some types of spyware are impossible to delete because they will duplicate the malicious files other places on your computer. These tricky types of Spyware must be quarantined, or put in a safe folder from which they are unable to execute any code. Knowing which spyware files to delete and which ones to quarantine can also be fairly difficult.

In reality, it is extremely, extremely hard for a typical computer user to remove all spyware or adware from a computer without the help of a program. Though i have given you the gist of what its like to attempt to remove spyware yourself, there are many more complications that become apparent throughout this tedious process.
